YouthThe Lewisburg United Methodist Church
UMYF
The United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) is an integral part of the life of our church—each young person is so dear, and so important. Our call as a church is to do all we can to love them, support them, and nourish them in their young lives, in their young Christian lives, as they grow to love and follow Christ. The Youth are always invited to call Jeff or come by any time to chat. Input and ideas from parents and other interested adults in the church is always appreciated! Our regular Sunday evening meeting schedule will include:
6:00: Snack Supper (We take half-an-hour to eat together while enjoying one another's company. Each night, parents volunteer to prepare a light supper for us. Donna Evans coordinates the snack suppers.) 6:15-6:30: Devotions (This year our devotions will be led by the youth themselves. Each week, one middle school youth and one high school youth will work together on putting a devotion together---Pastor Jeff is around to help find resources and all of that good stuff!) 6:30-7:30 Activities (During this time, the middle school youth and the high school youth will separate into two groups for activities. This time will involve all kinds of fun activites, from games and drama, to cooking and artwork! UMYF officially ends at 7:30 which is the time parents should plan on pick-up every week. 7:30-8:30 Disciple Bible Study for High School Youth (Pastor Jeff will be offering Disciple Bible Study to the High School youth every Sunday night after the regular youth meeting. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our high school youth to read the bulk of the Bible in 34 weeks. This particular edition of the Disciple Bible Study Program was written specifically for older teens. Please feel free to call, visit or email Jeff with any questions,
concerns, or ideas you may have about
our UMYF ministry. We could always use more help!
The Youth are not just, as the cliche contends,
"the future of our church;" they are also our
church of the present, as well. Care and responsibility
for the youth rests not just with parents
or respective church leaders: the care and teaching of the
youth belongs to us all.
